POV: Porsche 908 Around Laguna Seca

The Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is one of the most recognizable racetracks in the entire world, thanks mostly to its infamous “Corkscrew”: a blind crest and apex followed by a severe downhill turn. Chances are you’ve watched this course on television or experienced it yourself to some degree thanks to games like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsports.

Now Pro Racer Gunnar Jeanette, who once schooled me in a Shelby GT350 around Pocono Raceway, has put on a camera on his visor and jumped in a 1969 Porsche 908/2 to blaze through Laguna Seca. The classic Porsche is equipped with a 3.0 liter V8 that puts down 350 horsepower, which is more than plenty to shuttle this lightweight around the Monterey, California racetrack.

We suggest you stop what you’re doing, put on some headphones, and enjoy Gunnar’s melodic performance of the Porsche 908 while he chases a Porsche 917 around Laguna Seca.
