Collector cars for Mecum Kissimmee 2023 continue to climb, nears goal of 4,000

When Mecum Auctions heads to Kissimmee, Florida, January 4th-15th at Osceola Heritage Park, they will hopefully do so with a record number of vehicles.

The addition of 50 investment grade vehicles from the main attraction, Rick Grant III Estate Collection, pushed the total number closer to their ultimate goal of 4,000. Those that will headline the collection include a 1959 Porsche 718 RSK Center Seat, a 1936 Bugatti Type 57 and a 1957 Shelby 289 Cobra Roadster. Also available in the collection are a variety of very well preserved classic sports cars from Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Austin-Healey, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Jaguar, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, MG and more.

Joining the Rick Grant III Estate Collection and the already announced Chuck Cocoma Judge and GTO Ram Air IV Collection, headlined by a very rare Orbit Orange 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air IV Convertible, is a continuously growing list of private collections that features a wide variety of collectors vehicles. This includes The Gary Edwards Wing Car & Mopar Collection, which features 12 meticulously curated wing cars from Dodge and Plymouth along with four other mighty Mopars. Another dozen vehicles comes from The Lindley Collection, including another two wing cars. There will be nine no reserve vehicles from The David Disiere Collection, nine from The Wendlinger Collection, several of which benefitted from frame-off restorations, and six select vehicles from The Wellborn Musclecar Museum Collection.

Vice President of Consignments, Frank Mecum, had this to say about Kissimmee 2023, “When my dad (Dana Mecum) left the auction arena at the conclusion of Mecum Kissimmee in January, he said ‘4,000 next year,’ and he meant it. Despite the demanding auction schedule that remains for this year, our consignment agents have been hustling to achieve Dana’s goal. We have less than 60 days before Mecum Kissimmee 2023 opens.”

Last year’s Mecum Kissimmee achieved a record $217 million in sales, becoming the first ever live collector car auction to exceed $200 million.

There are still consignment positions open for Mecum Kissimmee 2023. If you want to participate, you can submit a Request for Position form now to take advantage of pre-auction advertising and promotion.

In person, telephone and internet bidder registration starts at $100. Admission is $20 in advance online and $30 at the door and online after January 3rd – per person, person. Children 12 and under receive complimentary admission. Gates open daily at 8 am.
