Alfa Romeo launches historical vehicle certification program for protection and promotion of brands history

Alfa Romeo is known as a brand with a lot of history, and at the 39th edition of ‘Auto e Moto d’Epoca’ and the 1000 Miglia Warm Up USA 2022, they announced that they will be protecting that history in a new way.

They have created Alfa Romeo Classiche. The heritage program with a range of services that will protect and promote the history of the iconic Italian automotive brand. And for the first time in Stellantis’ history, Alfa Romeo’s top management is personally involved in activities that make up a whole range of dedicated services. The certification committee is chair by the Alfa Romeo CEO and the Head of the Heritage Department, with support from the Alfa Romeo Museum, the location of the production registers and all the technical documentation used by the committee to analyze the information on examined cars.

“Alfa Romeo is going through a key phase in its history,” Jean Philippe Imparato, Alfa Romeo CEO, stated. “The historical period we are going through is a genuine evolution. The brand’s future includes very ambitious goals aimed at redefining the concept of sportiness in the 21st century, while remaining faithful to its DNA. While planning for the future, our heritage is always our main source of inspiration. For us, the Alfa Romeo Classiche heritage program aims to enhance our historic automotive heritage by certifying the authenticity of vintage Alfa Romeos and giving new life to marvelous examples that still captivate and excite car enthusiasts around the world.”

The Alfa Romeo Classiche heritage program consists of three things, a Certificate of Origin, a Certificate of Authenticity and Restoration Services. The Certificate of Origin has been offered since 2016, but this is the first time is has been offered with the other two and what it does is discover the history of the car through the chassis number. Once the chassis number is obtained they have a look through the production registers and certify the car’s year of production and original configuration. This includes model specifications, engine serial number and original interior and exterior details.

The Certificate of Authenticity will give you all the info on your vehicle. Alfa will review the detail and refinements of a car, the verify its production data and technical specifications in the company archives. Specialists in the Heritage department will then certify the authenticity of the car and highlight its value. To obtain the certification each car will be put through a rigorous inspection and evaluation process that is carried out by the specialized team. It will verify the authenticity of the car and its components and the functioning of the main mechanical parts. This inspection and examination can be done at the Officine Classiche in Mirafiori, at the customers home (globally) or at the Stellantis & You sales and service dealership in Rome and Palermo.

The third part of this heritage program is the Restoration Services. The same team that takes care of Stellantis’ historical collection is now available to private clients. Their services range from basic maintenance to complete restoration, from diagnosis to exterior restoration, the repair of individual mechanical and aesthetic components and final testing.

There will be a dedicated area on the Alfa Romeo website for the Alfa Romeo Classiche heritage program and it will allow the owners to receive all the information and support necessary to start a dedicated and personalized program with the click of a button.
