What Happened Before This F40 Fire Is The Stuff Of Nightmares

This is one that is going to hurt for a long time. I’m still hurting about this and I read this hours ago. Ugh. What a waste.

The Ferrari F40, as we all know, is arguably the greatest supercar ever made. It is the benchmark for which all other supercars are weighed against. It’s not the fastest car ever made, but the raw nature in which it delivers power, handling, and feedback is what everyone still talks about to this day. It’s the stuff of legend and it’s exactly why what your about to see may disturb you.

Right in the heart. Another unicorn gone. But what happened to this car before this fire is even more heartbreaking.

It was a sad day for the internet when shocking images of a fire-damaged F40 were posted on Ferrari Chat. The F40 is currently sitting at a recovery yard in the United Kingdom after being almost completely destroyed by a fire. The circumstances of the fire are unknown, but the person who posted the pictures, chat user Paul500, claims that the car was on its maiden drive after going through a complete restoration.

Yup. FULL restoration and on the first drive after, it burns to a crisp. There are no details as of yet as to how or why the fire started. Ferraris historically, along with some Lamborghinis, have caught fire from time to time, but this one might be the worst ever. I love the F40 and seeing this just sucks.

Here are some before an after shots. Condolences to the owner.
