VIDEO: Tire Bursting At Super Slow Motion

A Burnout is a high energy event where contact between the tire and the asphalt is overcome by sheer torque. All of that friction quickly heats up the tire and melts the rubber creating smoke. But when enough rubber dissipates and can no longer support the internal tire air pressure, the whole wheel and tire system just blows up. The guys at HOONIGAN made a super slow motion video, shot at 1000 FPS, of a burnout right before the tire bursts. The damage doesn’t just destroy the tire but also the fenders and the wheels.
