Slidey Dragster In Slow Motion Is Automotive Art

This footage from the NHRA Kansas Nationals show the skillful control of driver Doug Kalitta, taking charge of his Top Fuel Dragster car when it started drifting. This could have ended up as a tank-slapping death wobble, instead he got the car back into control and crossed the finish line epically. What’s even better than the car control is the slow motion footage of the dragsters. There’s a bunch of interesting stuff that occurs in a slow motion footage, such as seeing the behavior of really fat tires contorting in search for grip, the visible firing order of the cylinders, and also the deployment of the parachute as the cars cross the finish line. We need MORE slow-motion videos in our lives!
